Autogenetics is a private research lab pursuing general intelligence for robots and other automated systems. We believe that the best path to general intelligence is to recreate the steps that led to its evolution in nature.

In nature, intelligence starts at the subcellular level, as regulatory and sensing networks that enable even a simple bacterium to autonomously and intelligently obtain its own nutrients, repair itself, and build copies of itself – actions that are well beyond our current technology.

Autogenetics is a private research lab pursuing general intelligence for robots and other automated systems.

At Autogenetics, we are harnessing evolution and the principles of cell regulation to produce cell-like software agents that can perform complex control tasks and even self-assemble into multicellular brain-like systems.

We aim to evolve control systems with abilities on par with natural organisms in areas such as:

  • autonomous navigation
  • object manipulation
  • common-sense flexibility
  • lifelong learning

If we were able to replicate the level of autonomy and intelligence of even a honey bee, we could solve many of today’s greatest automation challenges.

But why stop there?
